The win moves the Wildcats (16-13, 7-11) into 13th place with two games left, with Minnesota and USC tied for 14th.

Bryce Johnson scored 22 points as Sacred Heart upset Marist 67-54 on Friday, knocking the Red Foxes out of a tie with Quinnipiac atop the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference. Johnson added seven rebounds and three steals for the Pioneers (13-15, 9-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Tanner Thomas added 16 points while shooting 6 for 14, including 2 for 6 from beyond the arc while they also had eight rebounds.

Dejour Reaves' 23 points and Adam Njie hit the game-winning jumper with three seconds left to lift Iona past Niagara 65-63 on Friday. Reaves shot 10 for 17, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc for the Gaels (13-16, 10-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Njie scored 13 points while going 6 of 11 from the field and added eight assists.

NCAA official: Tournament expansion for men and women unlikely next year

The NCAA has not finalized expansion plans for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and a decision is unlikely soon, NCAA senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt said in a CBS Sports interview. “It’s not taken in a lighthearted way at all because of the success of the tournaments and how important they are to college basketball overall,” Gavitt said.
