Jaland Lowe carries No. 18 Pittsburgh to 64-59 win over Virginia Tech

Jaland Lowe scored 19 points to lead No. 18 Pittsburgh to a 64-59 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams. Lowe connected on just 6 of 16 from the floor, but made all six of his free-throw attempts, including four in the final 25 seconds to help the Panthers (8-2) bounce back from a 33-point loss to Mississippi State on Wednesday. Ishmael Leggett added 17 points for the Panthers, who won despite shooting 41.1%.

Santos scores 24, Dayton defeats Lehigh 86-62

Nate Santos had 24 points in Dayton's 86-62 victory against Lehigh on Saturday. Santos shot 8 for 11 (6 for 6 from 3-point range) and 2 of 3 from the free-throw line for the Flyers (8-2). Malachi Smith added 17 points while shooting 5 for 8 (3 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 7 from the free-throw line while they also had nine assists.

South Carolina rides eight 2nd half 3s to a 75-68 win over East Carolina

Jamarii Thomas and Morris Ugusuk each hit three of South Carolina's eight second-half 3-pointers as the Gamecocks erased a five-point halftime deficit to post a 75-68 win over East Carolina on Saturday. South Carolina hit 17 of 25 from the field (68%), including 8 of 12 from beyond the arc (66.7%) over the final 20 minutes to earn its third straight win. East Carolina led by five at halftime and pushed it to 34-27 on an RJ Felton jumper to start the second half, but Collin Murray-Boyles converted three straight layups, Jamarii Thomas hit a jumper and Jacobi Wright hit from deep as the Gamecocks went on a 17-0 run to take a double-digit lead.
