Duke slogs through quick-turnaround win

This one, like most of the others, didn’t cost them in the final result — No. 4 Duke beat Incarnate Word 72-46 on Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. D.J. Wagner added 16 points for the Razorbacks (8-2), who went without a basket for the final 3:01 and nearly blew an 18-point lead. Trevon Brazile added 15 points and a key block on Vladislav Goldin with 14 seconds left.

Kasparas Jakucionis scored a career-high 24 points, Tre White had 23 points and eight rebounds and Kylan Boswell added 19 points and six assists to lead Illinois to an 86-80 win over No. 20 Wisconsin on Tuesday night. It was the fourth straight game in which Jakucionis scored 20 or more points for the Illini (7-2, 1-1 Big Ten), who beat Wisconsin for the ninth consecutive time. Nolan Winter led the Badgers (8-3, 0-2) with 15 points and seven rebounds, John Tonje had 14 points, Max Klesmit scored 13 and John Blackwell had 10.

Bensley Joseph, Bryce Hopkins lead Providence to 70-63 OT win over DePaul in Big East opener

Bensley Joseph had 20 points and Bryce Hopkins scored 19 to rally Providence to a 70-63 victory over DePaul in overtime on Tuesday night in a Big East Conference opener. Joseph made two free throws and a layup and Hopkins followed with a layup and two free throws to complete an 8-0 run that gave the Friars a 68-61 lead with 20 seconds remaining. Joseph had seven assists and Hopkins added 10 rebounds for the Friars (7-4).
