McKneeley scores 20, Ames adds 18 to help Virginia beat Georgia Tech 75-61

Isaac McKneeley scored 20 points, Dai Dai Ames added 14 of his 18 in the second half and Virginia beat Georgia Tech 75-61 on Saturday. Andrew Rohde scored 11 points with nine assists for Virginia (12-12, 5-8 ACC). The Cavaliers have won 13 in a row against Georgia Tech (11-13, 5-8), dating to a 68-64 loss on Jan. 9, 2016, and 21 of their last 23.

Belmont wins 85-68 over Missouri State

Tyler Lundblade had 27 points in Belmont's 85-68 victory against Missouri State on Saturday night. Lundblade shot 9 for 15 from beyond the arc for the Bruins (17-8, 9-5 Missouri Valley Conference). Isaiah Walker went 8 of 12 from the field to add 18 points.

Cameron Hildreth, Hunter Sallis, Efton Reid lead Wake Forest to 76-66 victory over California

Cameron Hildreth had 23 points, Hunter Sallis added 20 and Efton Reid scored 19 to lead Wake Forest to a 76-66 victory over California on Saturday. Hildreth made 8 of 11 shots with a 3-pointer and 6 of 7 free throws for the Demon Deacons (18-6, 10-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who upped their win streak to three by sweeping the West Coast schools. Sallis added eight assists and Reid hit 8 of 9 shots with two 3-pointers.

Chisora swats aside Wallin for victory by unanimous decision in home swansong

  • Fight billed as 41-year-old’s last on British soil
  • Chisora recovered from badly cut eye to win

Derek Chisora overcame a badly cut eye to deliver a gusty unanimous points win over Otto Wallin in Manchester in what was billed as his final fight on British soil. If this showdown at the Co-op Live Arena really was his home swansong, it was a fitting send-off.

Chisora started on the front foot and maintained his momentum despite picking up a deep cut above his right eye in the fifth round, as well as one below, which poured with blood, before going on to twice put Wallin on the canvas. Despite not being able to find a knockout blow, Chisora was handed a unanimous decision, which could now set him up for a shot at the IBF heavyweight title against either the champion Daniel Dubois or Joseph Parker, who will meet on 22 February.
