Emanuel Sharp added 12 points off the bench, including two free throws that pushed Houston's lead to 63-59 with 20 seconds left. The Cougars (26-4, 18-1 Big 12) went 4 of 4 from the foul line down the stretch.

Zaire Hayes scored 20 points as Texas Southern beat Alcorn State 75-59 on Monday night. Tyler Bilodeau scored 19 points to lead UCLA to a 73-69 victory over Northwestern on Monday night after the Bruins nearly blew a 14-point lead in the final three minutes. Back-to-back dunks by Bilodeau gave UCLA a 68-54 lead with 3:07 remaining. UCLA had three turnovers and a failed one-and-one in the next five possessions.

Evan Johnson scored 17 points to lead Maryland Eastern Shore to a 72-59 victory over Coppin State on Monday night. Johnson shot 4 of 10 from the field, including 3 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 7 from the line for the Hawks (6-23, 2-11 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Cardell Bailey shot 5 for 10, including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc to add 16 points.
