Danny Batth’s last-minute equaliser clinched Blackburn a 1-1 draw at Elland Road and denied Leeds a 10th straight home win.
Pascal Struijk’s late penalty appeared to have snatched Leeds all three points in their push to extend their lead at the top of the Championship before Batth struck. Leeds poured forward in pursuit of a winner during 10 minutes of added time but John Eustace’s playoff-chasing visitors held firm for a deserved point. Daniel Farke’s side had taken maximum points from their previous three festive fixtures, but they failed to spark against Rovers.

Arkansas came out somewhat sloppy, committed nine turnovers in the first half and only led by three points at the half. Freshman point guard Boogie Fland had just one point in the first half but scored 23 in the second. Forward Adou Thiero, on the other hand, was a constant source of offense in the first half.

As the Great Britain and Australia teams lined up ahead of their highly anticipated United Cup tussle, Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter savoured the last moment of peace in their household for the day, greeting each other on-court with a friendly kiss on the cheek. Then they retreated to their opposite corners of the arena and prepared to do battle.
By the end of the night, De Minaur had claimed victory in their skirmish but Boulter and her team were triumphant in the war. Although Australia defeated Great Britain 2-1 in Sydney, the home nation was knocked out of the competition as Great Britain advanced to the quarter-finals of the United Cup.
