Arkansas to honor 1990 Final Four team Saturday

The 1989-1990 Arkansas basketball team that advanced to the Final Four will be honored on Saturday during halftime of the game against Missouri at Bud Walton Arena, the school announced Monday.A press release from the university said approximately 20 former players, coaches and support staff are expected to be present, which includes Hall of Fame coach Nolan Richardson and Arkansas' all-time leading scorer Todd Day.

Illinois loses freshman forward Morez Johnson Jr. to a broken wrist

Illinois forward Morez Johnson Jr. is out indefinitely after breaking his wrist while making a spectacular block over the weekend. Coach Brad Underwood announced the severity of Johnson’s injury on Monday. Underwood said the injury occurred when Johnson fell to the floor after blocking a shot during Illinois’ 79-65 loss to No. 14 Michigan State on Saturday.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon ready to partner with Tom Cruise on ‘Days of Thunder’ sequel

NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon wants a “Days of Thunder” sequel and said at Daytona International Speedway that he's been in touch with the Hollywood actor about making the project come to life. "I’ve absolutely talked to Tom about it because I want him to do the project," Gordon said. The Hollywood Reporter reported in November that Cruise had talked to Paramount about a follow-up to his 1990 NASCAR racing film.
