Ustby’s absence hangs over No. 12 Tar Heels’ win against No. 10 Wolfpack

North Carolina coach Courtney Banghart had no update on the health of top scorer and rebounder Alyssa Ustby after she exited early in the 12th-ranked Tar Heels' win against 10th-ranked rival N.C. State on Sunday. Ustby played just 2 1/2 minutes in the 66-65 win. Banghart said she wasn't sure exactly what happened to Ustby “and still don't" beyond team staffers telling her at halftime that Ustby was done for the day.

Deen, Hannah lead Bradley past Drake, 61-59

Duke Deen led Bradley with 12 points and Darius Hannah hit the winning dunk with 10 seconds left as the Braves knocked off Drake 61-59 on Sunday. Deen went 4 of 10 from the field (3 for 7 from 3-point range) for the Braves (21-6, 12-4 Missouri Valley Conference). Zek Montgomery scored 11 points while going 4 of 6 from the field.

Townsend’s free throws help No. 12 Tar Heels edge No. 10 Wolfpack 66-65

Grace Townsend made two go-ahead free throws with 5.2 seconds left and No. 12 North Carolina came up with a final-play stop to edge No. 10 N.C. State 66-65 on Sunday. The graduate transfer from Richmond entered the rivalry game shooting 63.2% (24 of 38) from the line this year, but calmly made both in the clutch for the Tar Heels (23-4, 11-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). The Wolfpack (20-5, 12-2) had one try for the win coming out of a timeout, but Aziaha James couldn't turn the baseline corner against Reniya Kelly and Maria Gakdeng before losing the ball out of bounds as the horn sounded.
