Small entered Sunday against Colorado as the Big 12’s leading scorer, but the more important thing for the Mountaineers was finding ways to get production from other places than Small. West Virginia’s offense would find that second gear in the first half before Small was able to take over early in the second half.

The Spartans (14-2, 5-0 Big Ten) closed the first half on a 33-12 run and led 47-28 at intermission after all 10 players chipped in at least a field goal. Jase Richardson scored 13 points and Jeremy Fears Jr. had 12 points and eight assists for the Spartans, whose six dunks in the first half drew plenty of roars from visiting fans who seemed to make up half of the sellout crowd.

Auburn standout Johni Broome will not require surgery on his sprained left ankle, the school said in a statement Sunday. Broome, the Tigers' leading scorer, suffered what coach Bruce Pearl called a “significant sprain” of his ankle in No. 2 Auburn’s 66-63 win over South Carolina on Saturday. Broome, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound fifth-year senior and preseason Associated Press All-American who is considered a contender for national player of the year, had an MRI on Sunday.
