Dick Vitale said he's cancer-free after his fourth bout with the disease in just over three years. The 85-year-old ESPN college basketball analyst announced Thursday on social media that he got the news after a morning scan. Vitale had surgery in the summer to remove cancerous lymph nodes from his neck.

“I don’t feel no pressure about it … We are one of the best teams in the country.”

Arthur Kaluma scored 12 of his 18 points in the first half when Texas took a big lead and the Longhorns went on to beat New Mexico State 91-67 on Thursday night. Tramon Mark added 14 points and Jordan Pope and Ze'rik Onyema had 10 each for Texas (8-2), which shot 59%. Ben Hammond came off the bench to score a career-high 17 points on a perfect shooting night and Virginia Tech beat North Carolina A&T 95-67 Thursday night to snap a six-game losing streak. The 95 points were the most for the Hokies since scoring 98 against Wofford on Nov. 19, 2023. Hammond was 6 of 6 from the floor, including a trio of 3-pointers, and made both free throws.

Nolan Dorsey had 19 points in Campbell's 86-58 win against The Citadel on Thursday night. Dorsey also had five assists for the Fighting Camels (5-5). Caleb Zurliene scored 14 points, shooting 5 for 7, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc.

Elijah Saunders scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, when Jacob Cofie scored all 12 of his points, and Virginia closed the game on a 25-4 run to beat Bethune-Cookman 59-41 on Thursday night. Bethune-Cookman scored 12 of the opening 15 points of the game after Virginia started 1 of 15 from the field with six turnovers. Ishan Sharma got the Cavaliers back in it after making three 3-pointers in four minutes to tie it at 14-all.
