Osobor’s double-double helps send Washington past UC Davis in Sprinkle’s debut

Great Osobor scored 15 points and tied a career high grabbing 17 rebounds and Washington rallied late to beat UC Davis 79-73 to usher in the Danny Sprinkle era on Tuesday night. In the season opener for both teams, Washington used a balanced attack with Mekhi Mason scoring 13 points and reserves Zoom Diallo scored 12 and Wilhelm Breidenbach 10 respectively. The Aggies' TY Johnson scored a career-high 35 points shooting 10 of 25 and 13 for 16 from the free-throw line.

Floyd’s 23 lead North Texas over Evansville 80-63

Jasper Floyd had 23 points in North Texas' 80-63 season-opening victory against Evansville on Tuesday night. Floyd also had five assists for the Mean Green. Johnathan Massie added 18 points while shooting 6 for 11 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line while he also had eight rebounds.

Texas Tech kicks off 100th year of play dousing Bethune-Cookman 94-61

Kerwin Walton scored 21 points and JT Toppin scored 19 and Texas Tech all but wrapped it up at halftime beating Bethune-Cookman 94-61 on Tuesday night in a season opener for both teams. Chance McMillian and Darrion Williams each scored 17 points and Kevin Overton 10. The Red Raiders shot 36 of 63 (57%) including 16 of 30 (53%) from 3-point range.

Brooks, James carry No. 9 NC State past ETSU 80-55 in season opener

Zoe Brooks scored 21 points and Aziaha James posted all but two of her 17 points in the second half to help No. 9 N.C. State open a highly anticipated season with an 80-55 win over East Tennessee State on Tuesday night. Saniya Rivers and Madison Hayes both had 11 points as the Wolfpack geared up for this weekend's showdown with top-ranked South Carolina. Braylyn Milton and reserve Carmen Richardson led East Tennessee State with 12 points apiece.
