Garcia, Edmonds lead the way for Minnesota in 68-64 win over Omaha

Dawson Garcia scored 24 points and reserve Trey Edmonds scored 12 points and Minnesota fought Omaha's spirited effort and beat the Mavericks 68-64 on Saturday. Isaac Asuma made a 3-pointer with 5:51 remaining, Trey Edmonds made two free throws and Brennan Rigsby dunked it and Minnesota's 7-0 burst gave the Golden Gophers (2-0) a 61-57 and they led the rest of the way. Garcia made 1 of 2 free throws with 45 seconds left, and out of an Omaha (2-1) timeout, JJ White missed a jump shot.

St. John’s defeats Quinnipiac 96-73

RJ Luis Jr. had 24 points in St. John's 96-73 win over Quinnipiac on Saturday. Luis added 13 rebounds for the Red Storm (2-0). Brady Dunlap scored 20 points while shooting 6 for 8 (5 for 7 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line.

Johnson last-second basket sends Fordham over Seton Hall 57-56

Jackie Johnson III scored the game-winning basket on a floater as the buzzer sounded and finished with 18 points to lead Fordham past Seton Hall 57-56 on Saturday. The win was Fordham's first road win over a Big East opponent since December 2000. Johnson shot 7 for 17, including 3 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Rams (1-1).

Brea scores 20 points off the bench to pace Kentucky

Koby Brea came off the bench to score 20 points, including six three-pointers, and Jaxson Robinson added 14 as No. 23 Kentucky overwhelmed Bucknell 100-72 Saturday. The Wildcats (2-0) were cold from three-point range early in the first half, but Brea and Kerr Krissa each hit threes within 30 seconds to open up a 20-7 Kentucky lead with 13:08 left in the first half. The Bison (2-1) were led by Ian Motta’s 18 points as the team shot just 39.7%.
