Marquette (8-0) continued its fastest start since 2011-12, when it won its first 10 games. Jones threatened to get his second triple-double of the season.

Audi Crooks scored 21 points and No. 15 Iowa State rebounded from a 40-point loss to South Carolina with a 75-59 win over Middle Tennessee in the Fort Meyers Women's Tip-Off on Saturday. Mackenzie Hare had a steal she turned into a three-point play and Addy Brown had a buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Ta'Mia Scott scored 24 points, 17 in the second half, for the Blue Racers (6-2).

Lance Terry scored 25 points, Naithan George had 16 points and 11 assists, and Georgia Tech defeated Central Arkansas 87-68 on Saturday. After shooting 53% overall and making 9 of 18 3-pointers in the first half to build a 49-38 halftime lead, the Yellow Jackets cooled off early in the second half. The Yellow Jackets then put together a string of four free throws followed by a jumper from Terry to go up by 13 points with about 10 1/2 minutes remaining.

Jamiya Neal had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 21 Creighton past Notre Dame 80-76 on Saturday in the seventh-place game of the Players Era Festival. Notre Dame cut the lead to three with 24 seconds left, but Creighton (5-3) closed the game 6 of 6 from the free-throw line to seize the win and snap a three-game losing skid. Steven Ashworth had 15 points and six assists for Creighton.

John Tonje had 22 points and Nolan Winter scored 12 to pace No. 15 Wisconsin to a 74-53 win over Chicago State on Saturday. The Cougars (0-9) made just 1 of 13 shots during that stretch. Jalen Forrest was the only Cougars player to score in double figures.

Abdi Bashir Jr. had 28 points in Monmouth's 63-51 win over Seton Hall on Saturday. Bashir shot 11 for 19, including 6 for 9 from beyond the arc for the Hawks (1-8). Jack Collins scored 13 points while shooting 4 for 12 (3 for 11 from 3-point range) and 2 of 3 from the free-throw line and added five rebounds.

Lamar Wilkerson scored 17 points as Sam Houston beat Colgate 82-78 on Saturday. Wilkerson shot 7 for 14, including 3 for 9 from beyond the arc for the Bearkats (4-4). Dorian Finister added 15 points while shooting 4 of 10 from the field and 6 for 6 from the line while he also had eight rebounds.
