Martinelli scores 22, Barnhizer adds double-double and Northwestern holds off Montana State 72-69

Nick Martinelli scored 22 points, Brooks Barnhizer added 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Northwestern held off Montana State for a 72-69 victory on Tuesday night. Jabe Mullins hit a 3-pointer for Montana State that tied it 67-all with 47 seconds left. Matthew Nicholson answered for Northwestern with an alley-oop dunk and then Ty Berry blocked Brandon Walker's layup attempt on the Bobcats' ensuing series.

Tulane takes down Bethune-Cookman 72-57

Kaleb Banks scored 22 points as Tulane beat Bethune-Cookman 72-57 on Tuesday night. Banks had 10 rebounds for the Green Wave (4-1). Rowan Brumbaugh added 20 points while shooting 6 for 16 and 7 of 10 from the free-throw line while they also had five rebounds and 10 assists.

Vyctorius Miller scores 19 to help LSU beat Charleston Southern 77-68

Freshman Vyctorius Miller scored 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting, Jordan Sears scored 15 points and LSU beat Charleston Southern 77-68 Tuesday night. Dji Bailey made 5 of 6 from the field and scored 11 points — all in the second half — for LSU (4-0). Taje' Kelly hit a jumper that gave Charleston Southern (1-5) a two-point lead with 9:39 to play but Miller answered with a dunk on the other end to spark a 14-0 run that made it 70-58 about 6 minutes later and LSU led the rest of the way.

King’s 18 lead Missouri State over UT Arlington 78-68

Zaxton King's 18 points helped Missouri State defeat UT Arlington 78-68 on Tuesday night. King shot 5 of 14 from the field, including 2 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 6 from the line for the Bears (3-1). Vincent Brady II scored 14 points, shooting 4 for 9 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Michigan State beats Samford 83-75; MSU freshman Jase Richardson leaves game with ankle injury

Jaden Akins scored 25 points and Michigan State beat Samford 83-75 on Tuesday night, but Michigan State freshman Jase Richardson left the game late with a left ankle injury. Richardson, the son of former NBA player and Spartan Jason Richardson, scored 12 points before leaving the game in the final minute and was helped to the bench where the training staff wrapped ice on his ankle. The Spartans led the entire the entire second half and by as many as 13 points, 74-61, with 4:37 remaining.
