It was the first meeting since the Huskies, who lead the series 189-111, joined the Big Ten Conference, leaving the Cougars to play as an affiliate member of the West Coast Conference as the Pac-12 Conference tries to rebuild its membership.

Farrell scores 18 as Portland State downs Pacific 81-75

Cole Farrell's 18 points off of the bench led Portland State to an 81-75 victory against Pacific on Wednesday. Farrell added five rebounds for the Vikings (6-5). Shane Nowell scored 15 points, shooting 4 for 12 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.

Agbo, Claude fuel USC past Cal State Northridge for 90-69 win

Chibuzo Agbo scored 23 points and Desmond Claude scored 21 points and USC distanced itself from Cal State Northridge in the second half beating the Matadors 90-69 on Wednesday night. Saint Thomas scored 16 points and Josh Cohen added 12 for the Trojans (8-4) who have won three straight following a three-game skid. PJ Fuller II and Keonte Jones scored 17 apiece for the Matadors (7-4).

Hargress scores 22, UC Riverside beats Montana State 83-80

Barrington Hargress' 22 points helped UC Riverside defeat Montana State 83-80 on Wednesday. Hargress added 10 assists for the Highlanders (8-4). Kaleb Smith scored 18 points while shooting 6 for 10 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line and added eight rebounds.

Dent scores 40 as New Mexico beats VCU 78-71

Dent added five rebounds for the Lobos (9-3). Nelly Junior Joseph scored 15 points while shooting 5 of 11 from the field and 5 for 8 from the line and added 11 rebounds. Mustapha Amzil shot 5 of 12 from the field and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line to finish with 15 points, while adding eight rebounds.

No. 13 Gonzaga pulls away in the 2nd half to beat Nicholls 102-72

Braden Huff scored 25 points off the bench and No. 13 Gonzaga overcame a slow start to roll past Nicholls 102-72 on Wednesday night. Graham Ike added 20 points and six rebounds, and Ryan Nembhard had 18 points and 10 assists to help the Bulldogs (8-3) bounce back from a 77-71 loss last week to No. 11 UConn at Madison Square Garden. Bryon Ireland led Nicholls (7-5) with 16 points, including eight in the first half.

Nelson returns home to help No. 6 Alabama hold off Eaglestaff, North Dakota 97-90

Grant Nelson had 23 points and 10 rebounds in his return to his home state and No. 6 Alabama overcame Treysen Eaglestaff's big night to hold off North Dakota 97-90 on Wednesday night. Mark Sears had 23 points and Labaron Philon added 16 for the Crimson Tide (9-2) Alabama rebounded from a sloppy start to shoot 59% and commit just one turnover in the second half. Alabama coach Nate Oats scheduled the game as a favor to Nelson, who grew up 90 minutes away in Devils Lake and is in his second season with the Crimson Tide after transferring from North Dakota State.
