Thedford also contributed five rebounds for the Hilltoppers (10-4, 1-0 Conference USA). Tyrone Marshall added 12 points while going 6 of 7 and 0 of 3 from the free-throw line while they also had eight rebounds.

Abdi Bashir Jr. scored 31 points as Monmouth beat Stony Brook 78-56 on Thursday night to open Coastal Athletic Conference play. Bashir went 12 of 18 from the field (7 for 10 from 3-point range) for the Hawks (3-11, 1-0). Jack Collins added nine points while finishing 3 of 5 from the floor while they also had seven rebounds.

Nasir Whitlock led Lehigh with 20 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 24.2 seconds remaining in overtime, and the Mountain Hawks took down Bucknell 66-64 on Thursday night. Whitlock shot 7 of 10 from the field, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 4 from the line for the Mountain Hawks (6-6, 1-0 Patriot League). Cam Gillus scored 16 points while going 6 of 14 from the floor, including 1 for 6 from 3-point range.

Derrin Boyd scored 26 points to help Charleston defeat Hampton 94-67 on Thursday night. Boyd shot 6 of 10 from the field, including 5 for 9 from 3-point range, and went 9 for 9 from the line for the Cougars (11-3, 1-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Ante Brzovic scored 21 points and added nine rebounds.

Tyrese Hunter scored 20 points and PJ Haggerty added 19 as No. 21 Memphis beat Florida Atlantic 90-62 on Thursday night in the American Athletic Conference opener for both teams. Dain Dainja had 16 points for the Tigers (11-3), who have won four of five. Colby Rogers scored 11 points and Moussa Cisse finished with 11 rebounds and two blocks.

Aidan Kehoe's 20 points helped Navy defeat American 81-58 on Thursday night. Kehoe added 11 rebounds for the Midshipmen (4-10, 1-0 Patriot League). Donovan Draper scored 17 points and added 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Colby Duggan scored 19 points and Jasin Sinani made a 3-pointer with 57 seconds remaining as Campbell defeated Drexel 57-54 on Thursday night. Duggan added 11 rebounds for the Fighting Camels (6-8, 1-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Sinani scored 14 points and added six rebounds.

Shyanne Sellers scored 22 points and Allie Kubek added 17 to help No. 8 Maryland stay unbeaten with a 78-61 victory over Rutgers on Thursday night. Kaylene Smikle scored 13 points for the Terrapins (13-0, 3-0 Big Ten), who led by 18 at halftime and weren't threatened after that. Destiny Adams led the Scarlet Knights (8-6, 0-3) with 15 points before fouling out with 7:47 remaining.

Aidan Richard scored 18 points and Max Green secured the victory with a jump shot with 28 seconds left as Holy Cross knocked off Loyola (MD) 74-72 on Thursday night. Richard went 6 of 9 from the field (6 for 8 from 3-point range) for the Crusaders (9-5, 1-0 Patriot League). Green scored 17 points while shooting 6 for 14 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 7 from the free-throw line and added seven rebounds.

Anton Brookshire scored 25 points as Austin Peay beat North Florida 97-89 on Thursday. Brookshire shot 4 for 7 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 14 of 14 from the free-throw line for the Governors (6-8, 1-0 Atlantic Sun Conference). LJ Thomas scored 23 points and added nine rebounds.

Daren Patrick scored 19 points to help Charleston Southern defeat Gardner-Webb 72-63 on Thursday. Patrick added seven rebounds for the Buccaneers (5-11, 1-0 Big South Conference). RJ Johnson scored 18 points while shooting 6 for 12 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 5 of 8 from the free-throw line.
