Christian May and Nendah Tarke each scored 17 points as Towson beat Northeastern 80-73 on Thursday night. May also added 12 rebounds and five assists for the Tigers (7-9, 2-1 Coastal Athletic Association). Tyler Tejada had 11 points and went 3 of 9 from the field (3 for 5 from 3-point range).

Cameron Gregory scored 13 points while shooting 3 for 11 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line and added six rebounds and five assists. Colby Duggan shot 5 for 9, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points. The Pirates (8-8, 1-3) were led in scoring by George Beale, who finished with 15 points and two steals.

Jalen Speer's 27 points helped Marshall defeat James Madison 80-78 on Thursday night. Speer shot 9 for 13, including 7 for 7 from beyond the arc for the Thundering Herd (9-8, 2-2 Sun Belt Conference). Mikal Dawson added 17 points while shooting 7 for 16, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc while he also had eight rebounds.

Ante Brzovic scored 23 points as Charleston beat Hofstra 67-61 on Thursday night. Brzovic also had 11 rebounds for the Cougars (13-3, 3-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Derrin Boyd scored 10 points while shooting 3 for 9 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Kendall Bostic had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Genesis Bryant scored seven of her 12 points in the fourth quarter and Illinois beat No. Iowa 62-57 on Thursday night. Illinois (12-4, 2-3 Big Ten) won its second series meeting in the last 10 games, including a 90-86 win at home on Jan. 1, 2023.

Kobe Magee's 24 points helped Drexel defeat Stony Brook 67-51 on Thursday night. Magee shot 9 for 13, including 6 for 8 from beyond the arc for the Dragons (10-6, 2-1 Coastal Athletic Association). Yame Butler shot 3 for 7 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to add 14 points.

TJ Hurley scored 23 points as Vermont beat UMass-Lowell 67-63 on Thursday night. Hurley shot 6 of 13 from the field, including 2 for 8 from 3-point range, and went 9 for 10 from the line for the Catamounts (9-8, 2-0 America East Conference). Ileri Ayo-Faleye scored 17 points while going 6 of 15 from the floor, including 2 for 8 from 3-point range, and 3 for 5 from the line and added 11 rebounds.

Jackson Shelstad scored 24 points and made two free throws with seven seconds left as No. 15 Oregon rallied late to beat Ohio State 73-71 on Thursday night. Nate Bittle had 21 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Oregon (14-2, 3-2 Big Ten), which took a 70-67 lead on TJ Bamba's shot in the lane with 40 seconds left. After Ohio State scored, Shelstad was trapped in the corner and turned it over, leading to two free throws by freshman John Mobley Jr. to give the Buckeyes a 71-70 lead with 12.6 seconds to play.

Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn scored 16 points apiece to lead No. 20 Purdue to a 68-50 win over Rutgers on Thursday night. Smith, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week, had 14 assists. Fletcher Loyer added 13 points, giving him 1,009 for his career.

Donovan Atwell led UNC Greensboro with 28 points and Ronald Polite hit a game-winning 3-pointer just before the buzzer as the Spartans defeated Chattanooga 78-75 on Thursday night. Atwell shot 9 of 11 from the field, including 6 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 4 from the line for the Spartans (10-6, 3-0 Southern Conference). Kenyon Giles scored 26 points while going 10 of 17 from the floor, including 3 for 8 from 3-point range, and 3 for 4 from the line.

Jerone Morton's 17 points helped Morehead State defeat Little Rock 59-53 on Thursday. Morton added four steals for the Eagles (9-7, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference). Anouar Mellouk scored 14 points, going 7 of 10 from the field.

A proposal from the nation’s four largest conferences would give them more authority over rule-making, policy decisions and postseason events such as March Madness.
