Boopie Miller scored 21 points with seven assists, B. J. Edwards had 17 points, and SMU defeated UNC-Greensboro 81-68 on Monday night. Miller scored 13 points in the second half and the Mustangs (3-0) pushed a six-point halftime lead to 14 points halfway through the period. After an unusual stretch of nearly five minutes in which all 14 points were scored at the free-throw line, Malik Henry threw down a dunk that got Greensboro within 65-54.

Dayton transfer Kobe Elvis added 10 points and Sam Godwin grabbed 10 rebounds to go with eight points for Oklahoma (2-0). Micah Thomas led Northwestern State (1-2) with 20 points and Addison Patterson scored 16. Willie Williams added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Zhuric Phelps scored 16 points and Wade Taylor IV and Andersson Garcia each had 15 as No. 23 Texas A&M defeated Lamar 97-71 on Monday night. Henry Coleman III added 13 points for the Aggies (2-1), who dropped 10 spots in the AP Top 25 poll this week.

Kaleb Banks' 25 points helped Tulane defeat Alcorn State 84-51 on Monday night. Banks had seven rebounds for the Green Wave (3-0). Kam Williams added 13 points while shooting 5 for 10, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc while they also had three steals and three blocks.

Vincent Brady II's 21 points helped Missouri State defeat Missouri Southern State 90-61 on Monday night. Brady had six rebounds and three steals for the Bears (1-1). Dez White shot 6 of 12 from the field, including 1 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 from the foul line to add 16 points.

Dezayne Mingo scored 19 points as Marshall beat Southern Indiana 77-63 on Monday night. Mingo added three steals for the Thundering Herd (2-1). Nate Martin added 18 points while shooting 5 for 7 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 6 of 10 from the free-throw line while he also had five rebounds.

Curtis Jones came off the bench to score 20 points and Milan Momcilovic added 16 to lead No. 7 Iowa State in an 82-56 rout over Kansas City on Monday night. Jones, who played a key role as Iowa State's sixth man last season, has scored 20 or more points three times in his 32 games with the Cyclones. Charlotte transfer Dishon Jackson added 13 points and six rebounds in his second game for Iowa State (2-0).

Braden Smith finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists Monday night and Trey Kaufman-Renn added 17 points to lead No. Purdue past Yale 92-84. The Boilermakers (3-0) extended their home winning streak to 21, tying the third-longest in Mackey Arena history.

Isaac McKneely hit three straight 3-pointers in the closing minutes of the first half to push Virginia to a double-digit halftime lead and the Cavaliers cruised to a 62-45 win over Coppin State on Monday night. Virginia is now 2-0 to start the season under interim head coach Ron Sanchez, who was promoted less than a month ago after former coach Tony Bennett's surprise retirement. McKneely, one of just two returning starters with Andrew Rohde, scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half, all coming from beyond the 3-point arc.

Ishmael Leggett scored 21 points to lead five in double figures and Pitt eased past Gardner-Webb 83-64 on Monday night. Leggett had a near-perfect game, making 7 of 9 field goals, 3 of 4 3-pointers and all four of his free throws. He also had six rebounds and four assists.

Jaden Schutt scored 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting and Virginia Tech fought off a valiant effort by Winthrop for a 58-52 win over the Eagles on Monday night. The win marked Virginia Tech's 800th win in program history. Kelton Talford made two free throws with 7:47 remaining to pull Winthrop (2-1) into a tie at 42-all.

Darius Maddox scored 20 points as George Mason beat Stony Brook 94-56 on Monday night. Maddox shot 5 for 8 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 8 of 9 from the free-throw line for the Patriots (2-1). Giovanni Emejuru scored 17 points and added eight rebounds.
