UC Irvine wins 70-60 over Long Beach State

Myles Che's 19 points helped UC Irvine defeat Long Beach State 70-60 on Saturday night. Che shot 5 for 10 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line for the Anteaters (25-5, 15-3 Big West Conference). Justin Hohn scored 14 points, shooting 4 for 9 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Augustas Marciolionis scores 25 points, leading No. 23 Saint Mary’s past Oregon State 74-64

Augustas Marciolionis scored 25 points and No. 23 Saint Mary’s won its seventh straight, 74-64 over Oregon State on Saturday night. Marciolionis, the son of Hall of Famer Sarunas Marciolionis, made four 3-pointers and shot 7 of 12 overall to lead the regular-season champion Gaels (27-4, 17-1 West Coast Conference) in their final tune-up before the conference tournament this week. Luke Barrett had 13 points and nine rebounds for Saint Mary’s. Mitchell Saxen, who recently became the Gaels’ career leader for games, had 12 points and 11 rebounds in his final home game.

West Virginia’s offense slows as they can’t answer BYU in the second half

It was a familiar feeling for West Virginia on Saturday against BYU. Last Saturday, the Mountaineers battled early and led in the first half on the road against a ranked opponent in Texas Tech, before they pulled away towards the end of the first half, handing the Mountaineers a loss. This Saturday, the Mountaineers once again battled early against the No. 25 ranked Cougars, leading during the first half.
