Gibson Jimerson scored 33 points to lead Saint Louis over Fordham 88-63 on Tuesday. Jimerson also contributed eight rebounds for the Billikens (8-6, 1-0 Atlantic 10 Conference). Robbie Avila scored 19 and grabbed five rebounds.

Darius Johnson had 24 points, Keyshawn Hall scored 22 and UCF upped its win streak to six after holding on for an 87-83 victory over Texas Tech on Tuesday in a Big 12 Conference opener. Johnson made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 19 seconds after the Knights (10-2) saw an 18-point second-half lead shrink to one. UCF used a 24-12 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half to turn an eight-point halftime lead into a 71-53 advantage.

Hunter Sallis scored 23 points, Tre'Von Spillers had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Wake Forest beat Syracuse 81-71 on Tuesday. Wake Forest started the game on a 17-2 run before having its lead trimmed to 36-34 at halftime. Syracuse started the second half on an 11-3 run to take a six-point lead.

Andrew Carr scored all of his 14 points in the first half, Otega Oweh added 13 and No. 10 Kentucky handled Brown 88-54 Tuesday. Oweh had 11 points after halftime, including seven in the first five minutes of the second half to put the Wildcats (11-2) up 52-32 with 15:38 remaining. Amari Williams and Koby Brea each added 13 points.

Javon Small hit the go-ahead free throw with 1.8 seconds remaining, and short-handed West Virginia held on after blowing an 18-point second-half lead to beat seventh-ranked Kansas 62-61 in an intense Big 12 opener for both teams Tuesday. Eduardo Andre had 15 points and Small finished with 13 for the Mountaineers (10-2, 1-0), who built a 38-20 lead despite missing two of their three leading scorers to injuries, only to watch Kansas (9-3, 0-1) use a 15-2 run to get back in the game. Zeke Mayo, who led the Jayhawks with 27 points, converted a three-point play to tie the game 61-all with 16 seconds left.

West Virginia’s trip to Kansas seemed doomed from the start. Dealing with a plane malfunction as well as without two of their primary starters, WVU did not have a pregame shootaround and was also without Tucker DeVries for the fourth consecutive game, as well as Amani Hansberry. The Mountaineers led by as many as 18 before they had their lead erased in the closing seconds of regulation.

Elijah Saunders scored 22 points, Isaac McKneely had 15 points and four 3-pointers, and Virginia rallied in the second half to beat NC State 70-67 on Tuesday. Blake Buchanan gave Virginia a 67-55 lead with 5:02 remaining but the Cavaliers did not make another field goal the rest of the way. NC State grabbed an offensive rebound on three straight possessions to begin a 10-1 run to get within 68-65 with 1:08 left.
