Konan Niederhauser scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Zach Hicks scored 17 points, reserve Nick Kern Jr. 13 and Freddie Dilione V and Puff Johnson and 11 apiece. Undefeated Penn State (5-0) shot 34 of 61 (55.7%) distributing 25 assists.

Sebastian Thomas scored 23 points as Rhode Island beat Lafayette 86-72 on Wednesday night. Thomas also added nine assists and three steals for the Rams (4-0). David Green scored 17 points and added 14 rebounds.

Javon Small scored 23 points, including five 3-pointers, Tucker DeVries added 13 points and West Virginia routed Iona 86-43 on Wednesday night. Johnathan Powell scored 11 points and Amani Hansberry had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Mountaineers (3-1). Small had five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Maya McDermott scored a career-high 37 points and Kayla Laube added 21 as Northern Iowa beat No. 8 Iowa State 87-75 on Wednesday night. The Panthers (3-1) trailed 53-45 with 7:36 left in the third quarter before going on a 31-7 run over the next 12:17. Audi Crooks led Iowa State (4-1) with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Zimi Nwokeji had 19 points and nine rebounds, Robert McCray V added 17 points and eight assists and Jacksonville shot 62% in the second half Wednesday night to help the Dolphins beat Virginia Tech 74-64. Jacksonville (3-2) beat a Power Four program for the first time since the Dolphins beat Florida in 2010. Mylyjael Poteat made a layup to tie it at 44-all, but McCray made a jumper in the lane and then stole a pass and went the other way for a fast-break dunk and Jacksonville never again trailed.

Ryan Conwell scored 16 points as Xavier beat Siena 80-55 on Wednesday night. Conwell shot 6 for 9, including 4 for 5 from beyond the arc for the Musketeers (5-0). Trey Green shot 5 for 8, including 4 for 7 from beyond the arc to add 14 points.

Last Friday, West Virginia was on the wrong side of a bad, blowout loss to Pitt. On Wednesday against Iona, the Mountaineers needed to redeem themselves from the loss ahead of a challenging three-game stretch beginning a week from tonight. While he hit a three-pointer to open the scoring, he would get a steal, which led to an easy Sencire Harris layup to put WVU in front, 7-2.

Auriemma broke a tie with retired Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer for the most victories all-time. Former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski holds the men's record with 1,202.
