Javon Small scored five of his 31 points in overtime and Tucker DeVries added key free throws late in regulation and finished with 16 points as West Virginia beat No. 3 Gonzaga 86-78 in the Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday. Small's layup with under 2 minutes left in OT gave West Virginia a 79-75 lead. After a Gonzaga miss, Sencire Harris hit two free throws to make it a six-point lead.

Curtis Jones had 19 points, Keshon Gilbert scored 15 and Dishon Jackson, Joshua Jefferson and Tamin Lipsey added 10 apiece for the Cyclones (5-1). West Virginia opened their week in the Battle 4 Atlantis as heavy underdogs to No. 3 Gonzaga. West Virginia completed a comeback in the closing seconds of the second half to force overtime and they would thrive there, ultimately outlasting Gonzaga, 86-78. West Virginia scored five points in the final 19 seconds of regulation before they outscored Gonzaga 15-7 in the extra session to seal the win.

Louisville (4-1) beat a ranked team for the first time since topping Virginia Tech 73-71 on Jan. 6, 2021. Kasean Pryor scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half and Reyne Smith added 12 points for Louisville.
