Collin Murray-Boyles had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead South Carolina past Virginia Tech 70-60 on Wednesday night in the third-place game of the Beach Division at the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Zachary Davis and Morris Ugusuk added 12 points each for the Gamecocks (4-3). Jaydon Young scored 12 points and Jaden Schutt 11 for the Hokies (3-4).

Kobe Elvis scored 26 points, Jeremiah Fears added 20 and Oklahoma held on to beat Providence 79-77 in a odd finish at the Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Sooners (5-0) will take No. 24 Arizona, a 104-71 winner over Davidson, which will play Providence (5-1). Elvis was 10-of-14 shooting while Fears, a freshman, was 12 of 14 at the line and had seven assists and four of the Sooners' 12 steals but also eight turnovers.

Cooper Schwieger scored 17 points as Valparaiso beat Northern Illinois 87-82 on Wednesday night. Schwieger also had seven rebounds for the Beacons (4-2). Tyler Schmidt shot 5 of 9 from the field and 7 for 8 from the line to add 17 points.

Johni Broome and No. 3 Auburn captured the Maui Invitational championship Wednesday by defeating Memphis.

Johni Broome scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead No. 4 Auburn to the Maui Invitational championship with a 90-76 win over Memphis on Wednesday. Auburn (7-0) opened the game with a 9-0 run spurred by Broome’s 3-pointer from the right wing just 22 seconds in. Broome had 15 points and 11 rebounds by halftime and finished 8 of 15 from the field with six assists and four blocks.

Reigan Richardson scored a career-high 35 points to lead No. 13 Duke past No. 8 Oklahoma 109-99 in overtime on Wednesday in the championship game of the Ball Dawgs Classic. Oklahoma overcame a first-half, 15-point deficit to tie the game with 4:45 left in the game, and forced overtime with Payton Verhulst’s 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Memphis ran into an Auburn buzzsaw after an impressive path to the Maui Invitational final.

Gonzaga is the latest top five team to lose in a preseason holiday tournament.

Javon Small scored five of his 31 points in overtime and Tucker DeVries added key free throws late in regulation and finished with 16 points as West Virginia beat No. 3 Gonzaga 86-78 in the Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday. Small's layup with under 2 minutes left in OT gave West Virginia a 79-75 lead. After a Gonzaga miss, Sencire Harris hit two free throws to make it a six-point lead.

Kennard Davis' 15 points helped Southern Illinois defeat Florida Tech 81-54 on Wednesday. Davis shot 6 for 13, including 1 for 5 from beyond the arc for the Salukis (3-5). Jarrett Hensley added 14 points while going 6 of 9 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and he also had six rebounds.

Milan Momcilovic scored 18 of his career-high 24 points in the first half and No. 5 Iowa State pulled away from Colorado 99-71 on Wednesday to claim fifth place at the Maui Invitational. Curtis Jones had 19 points, Keshon Gilbert scored 15 and Dishon Jackson, Joshua Jefferson and Tamin Lipsey added 10 apiece for the Cyclones (5-1). Jones and Jefferson grabbed six rebounds each, Gilbert had six assists and Lipsey contributed four assists and four steals.

West Virginia opened their week in the Battle 4 Atlantis as heavy underdogs to No. 3 Gonzaga. West Virginia completed a comeback in the closing seconds of the second half to force overtime and they would thrive there, ultimately outlasting Gonzaga, 86-78. West Virginia scored five points in the final 19 seconds of regulation before they outscored Gonzaga 15-7 in the extra session to seal the win.

Jayden Nunn scored 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, and No. 17 Baylor led throughout in a 91-60 victory over New Orleans on Wednesday. After Nunn was recognized just before tipoff for reaching 1,000 career points earlier this month, he made two 3s in the first 68 seconds of the game for a 6-0 lead. Freshman guard Robert Wright added 18 points for Baylor (5-2).

AJ Smith scored 12 points and added five rebounds and three steals. Justas Stonkus finished 4 of 4 from the field to finish with 12 points. The Norse (1-5) were led in scoring by Sam Vinson, who finished with 21 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Chucky Hepburn had 16 points, 10 assists and seven steals, Noah Waterman also had 16 points and Louisville beat No. 14 Indiana 89-61 on Wednesday in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis. Louisville (4-1) beat a ranked team for the first time since topping Virginia Tech 73-71 on Jan. 6, 2021. Kasean Pryor scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half and Reyne Smith added 12 points for Louisville.
