Reserve Rodney Rice scored 26 of his career-high 28 points in the first half, Jakobi Gillespie added 13 points and Maryland shattered Mount St. Mary's 86-52 on Friday night. Rice shot 10 of 14 including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Selton Miguel scored 11 points and Julian Reese just missed a double-double scoring nine points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Tamar Bates scored 17 points, Mark Mitchell added 16 and Missouri defeated Howard 77-62 on Friday night. Missouri (1-1) led by 12 at halftime but it took a late second-half run to put the game away. The Tigers' lead was only 61-57 after Howard's Marcus Dockery drilled a 3-pointer with 4 1/2 minutes to go in the second half.

Mark Sears scored 19 points and No. 2 Alabama survived an upset scare on Friday, beating Arkansas State 88-79. The game was tied with seven minutes left before Alabama scored 11 of the next 13 points, three of them from Sears at the free throw line. Labaron Philon, Clifford Omoruyi and Grant Nelson each scored 12 points for the Crimson Tide (2-0) but only combined for one 3-pointer.

Jarvis Moss' 24 points helped Radford defeat William & Mary 89-77 on Friday night. Moss had six rebounds for the Highlanders (1-1). Ibu Yamakazi scored 17 points while shooting 6 for 6, including 4 for 4 from beyond the arc.

Trey Autry led George Washington over Hampton on Friday night with 14 points in an 82-54 victory. Autry shot 4 of 6 from the field, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 5 from the line for the Revolutionaries (2-0). Gerald Drumgoole Jr. shot 5 of 12 from the field, including 1 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 3 from the line to add 13 points.

LJ Thomas scored 29 points and secured the victory with a layup with 46 seconds remaining as Austin Peay knocked off Butler 68-66 on Friday night. Thomas added eight rebounds for the Governors (2-0). Sai Witt scored nine points while going 4 of 7 and 1 of 4 from the free-throw line.

The Duke Blue Devils cruised to a 100-58 victory over the Army Black Knights on Friday, but it wasn't all smooth sailing for freshman Cooper Flagg.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser had 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, D'Marco Dunn added 16 points and Penn State routed UMBC 103-54 on Friday night. Penn State, which beat Binghamton 108-66 in a season opener, posted back-to-back 100-plus games for the first time in program history. The Nittany Lions scored 60 points in the second half against UMBC after shooting 58% from the field.

Benny Gealer scored a career-high 20 points and made six 3-pointers — all in the second half — and Maxime Raynaud had 14 points and 14 rebounds to help Stanford beat Cal State Fullerton 80-53 on Friday. Stanford led by three points, 30-27, at halftime after Raynaud made a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left. Cal State Fullerton took a double-digit lead with 7:37 left in the first half after a 15-1 run that included seven made free throws.
