The Maui Invitational was not kind to Dan Hurley or the Huskies last week.

The Pitt Panthers are off to a 7-1 start in the 2024-25 season. Pitt is coming off a dramatic 91-90 overtime win over Ohio State on Friday, and that victory vaulted the Panthers into the national rankings this week. This is the Panthers’ first appearance in the poll since being ranked No. 25 late in the 2023 season, and just the second week the program has been ranked since Jeff Capel has been at the helm.

Kansas held off Auburn for the No. 1 ranking in The Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll on Monday as Southeastern Conference teams grabbed three of the top four spots and two-time reigning national champion UConn nearly fell out entirely after an 0-3 week at the Maui Invitational. The Jayhawks earned 35 of 61 first-place votes in the poll, while the Tigers got the remaining 26 and climbed two spots to No. 2 after wining the Maui title. The Huskies fell all the way to No. 25, barely avoiding becoming only the second team to go from No. 2 to unranked in a week in nearly four decades.

UNC Wilmington Seahawks (5-2) at East Carolina Pirates (7-1) Greenville, North Carolina; Tuesday, 7 p.m. EST BOTTOM LINE: East Carolina hosts UNC Wilmington after C.J. Walker scored 23 points in East Carolina's 93-69 win against the North Carolina A&T Aggies. The Pirates have gone 5-0 at home.

Loyola (MD) Greyhounds (3-3) at Coppin State Eagles (0-8) Baltimore; Monday, 7 p.m. EST BETMGM SPORTSBOOK LINE: Greyhounds -6.5; over/under is 131.5 BOTTOM LINE: Loyola (MD) visits Coppin State after Milos Ilic scored 28 points in Loyola (MD)'s 70-67 win over the VMI Keydets. The Eagles are 0-1 in home games.

Yale Bulldogs (4-4) at Rhode Island Rams (7-0) Kingston, Rhode Island; Monday, 7 p.m. EST BETMGM SPORTSBOOK LINE: Rams -3.5; over/under is 156.5 BOTTOM LINE: Yale plays Rhode Island after Nick Townsend scored 20 points in Yale's 100-94 loss to the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens. The Rams are 5-0 in home games.
