Michigan basketball committed turnovers on 42.1% of its first half possessions, yet picked up a much-needed Power Four win vs. TCU, 76-64.

Nimari Burnett scored 16 points, Danny Wolf had 14 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, and Michigan beat TCU 76-64 on Friday night. Wolf gave Michigan a 53-43 lead with 12 minutes left but the Wolverines only made two field goals over the next six minutes to have their lead trimmed to 63-60 with 6:16 remaining. TCU didn't make its next field goal until the 2:19 mark when Trazarien White converted a fast-break layup to make it 72-64.

Nick Johnson scored 17 points to lead Winthrop and Bryce Baker knocked down a game-winning 3-pointer just before the final buzzer as the Eagles defeated William & Mary 86-85 on Friday night. Johnson also contributed three steals for the Eagles (3-1). Baker scored 16 points while going 6 of 11 (4 for 9 from 3-point range) and added six rebounds.

UConn's Geno Auriemma sounded more interested in getting his team ready to contend for a national championship than adding another coaching milestone to a Hall of Fame career. The 70-year-old Auriemma earned his 1,216th win Friday night as his No. 2 Huskies beat No. 14 North Carolina 69-58.

Isaac McKneely scored 23 points and made all six of his 3-point attempts to help Virginia beat Villanova 70-60 on Friday night as part of the Hall of Fame Series. Virginia is 3-0 under interim coach Ron Sanchez after three-time national coach of the year Tony Bennett retired. McKneely made his first six shots of the game, including four 3-pointers.

Arkansas junior wing Adou Thiero seems to be hitting his stride in his race now in his third year of college basketball, as he's outpacing his previous two seasons by a significant margin. The Kentucky transfer is averaging 17.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists per game through three contests with the Razorbacks, which doubles his point average from a season ago so far. Thiero has scored double-digit points twice, including a 24-point performance against Baylor on Saturday and 19-point performance against Troy on Wednesday.

Michigan faces TCU, which made NCAA tournament for 3rd straight year in 2023-24, but returns just one player from that roster under coach Jamie Dixon.

Temple Owls (3-0) at Boston College Eagles (1-1) Boston; Friday, 7 p.m. EST BETMGM SPORTSBOOK LINE: Eagles -1.5; over/under is 145.5 BOTTOM LINE: Temple faces Boston College after Zion Stanford scored 23 points in Temple's 69-61 win against the Drexel Dragons. East Tennessee State Buccaneers (2-1) at Davidson Wildcats (2-0) Davidson, North Carolina; Saturday, 5 p.m. EST BOTTOM LINE: Davidson takes on East Tennessee State after Reed Bailey scored 24 points in Davidson's 91-85 victory against the Bowling Green Falcons. Davidson finished 9-7 at home a season ago while going 15-17 overall.

Virginia Cavaliers (2-0) vs. Villanova Wildcats (2-2) Baltimore; Friday, 5 p.m. EST BETMGM SPORTSBOOK LINE: Wildcats -4.5; over/under is 129.5 BOTTOM LINE: Villanova takes on Virginia in Baltimore, Maryland. Villanova went 18-16 overall with a 7-5 record in non-conference games during the 2023-24 season.

Northwestern State Demons (1-2) at Rice Owls (2-1) Houston; Saturday, 3 p.m. EST BOTTOM LINE: Northwestern State visits Rice after Micah Thomas scored 20 points in Northwestern State's 73-57 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. Rice went 11-21 overall last season while going 6-10 at home.

Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (1-3) at Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons (2-1) Fort Wayne, Indiana; Saturday, 7 p.m. EST BOTTOM LINE: Purdue Fort Wayne hosts Southern Indiana after Rasheed Bello scored 31 points in Purdue Fort Wayne's 91-69 win against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. Purdue Fort Wayne finished 11-5 at home a season ago while going 23-13 overall.

Trenton McLaughlin had 22 points in Northern Arizona's 60-57 win over Pacific on Thursday. McLaughlin had six rebounds for the Lumberjacks (3-1). Jayden Jackson scored 12 points and added five rebounds.
