Brea scores 20 points off the bench to pace Kentucky

Koby Brea came off the bench to score 20 points, including six three-pointers, and Jaxson Robinson added 14 as No. 23 Kentucky overwhelmed Bucknell 100-72 Saturday. The Wildcats (2-0) were cold from three-point range early in the first half, but Brea and Kerr Krissa each hit threes within 30 seconds to open up a 20-7 Kentucky lead with 13:08 left in the first half. The Bison (2-1) were led by Ian Motta’s 18 points as the team shot just 39.7%.

Zeigler, Lanier each score 19 points to lead No. 12 Tennessee over Louisville 77-55

Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler each scored 19 points and No. 12 Tennessee held Louisville to 27% shooting in a 77-55 rout on Saturday. The Volunteers (2-0), who shot 57%, outrebounded the Cardinals 40-26 (28 defensively) and outscored them 40-10 in the paint in the first meeting between the schools since 2018. Tennessee led 10-0 after five minutes and several times by at least 20 points, pulling away for the last time after Louisville (1-1) closed within 47-38 early in the second half.

Trio propels Oregon State to 76-48 romp over Weber State

Parsha Fallah and Nate Kingz scored 16 points apiece and Michael Rataj added a double-double as Oregon State rolled to a 76-48 victory over Weber State on Friday night. Fallah and Kingz both hit 6 of 9 shots from the floor and all four of their free throws for the Beavers (2-0). Rataj totaled 15 points and 13 rebounds with three blocked shots.

Trio leads Washington State to 91-74 victory over Bradley

Nate Calmese and Cedric Coward scored 18 points apiece and LeJuan Watts added a double-double to lead Washington State to a 91-74 victory over Bradley on Friday night. Calmese hit 9 of 11 from the free-throw line and added six assists and three steals for the Cougars (2-0). Coward made three 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds with three steals.

Nelly Junior Joseph gets 45th career double-double and New Mexico beats No. 22 UCLA 72-64

Donovan Dent had 17 points and eight assists, Nelly Junior Joseph added 16 points and 12 rebounds for his 45th career double-double, and New Mexico beat No. 22 UCLA 72-64 on Friday night in the Las Vegas Hoopfest. It was New Mexico's first win against a ranked team in nonconference play since beating current UCLA coach Mick Cronin while he was at Cincinnati during the 2012-13 season. Junior Joseph was one of three New Mexico players with a double-double in a season-opening victory over Nicholls on Monday.

Temple beats Monmouth 103-74

Jamal Mashburn Jr. had 25 points in Temple's 103-74 win over Monmouth on Friday. Mashburn shot 10 for 15, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc for the Owls (2-0). William Settle added 17 points while shooting 3 for 11 (3 for 7 from 3-point range) and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line while he also had 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Augillard scores 30, Fresno State defeats Sacramento State 64-57

Amar Augillard's 30 points led Fresno State past Sacramento State 64-57 on Friday. Augillard shot 9 for 19 (4 for 13 from 3-point range) and 8 of 8 from the free-throw line for the Bulldogs (1-0). Zaon Collins scored 11 points while going 4 of 12 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and added seven rebounds and three steals.
