Robert Brown III scored 28 points as Nicholls State beat Southern-New Orleans 110-66 on Tuesday night. Brown shot 9 for 18 (4 for 11 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line for the Colonels (7-4, 2-0 Southland Conference). Sincere Malone scored 23 points while shooting 9 of 10 from the field and 5 for 6 from the line and added six rebounds.

AJ Smith led Charleston over Saint Joseph's on Tuesday night with 18 points off of the bench in a 78-75 victory. Xzayvier Brown missed a 3-pointer and the chance to tie it for the Hawks. Smith shot 6 of 10 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line for the Cougars (7-2).

Zach Freemantle scored 27 points as Xavier beat Morgan State 119-58 on Tuesday night. Freemantle also added 10 rebounds for the Musketeers (8-2). Marcus Foster added 18 points while going 7 of 11 (4 for 6 from 3-point range) while he also had five rebounds.

Donnie Freeman scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half, Chris Bell added 18 points and Syracuse beat Albany 102-85 on Tuesday night. Syracuse led by double figures the entire second half. Freeman was 7 of 8 from the field after halftime, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range, to help the Orange finish at 63.5% (40 of 63) shooting for the game.

Maluach — a 7-foot-2 freshman center from South Sudan — shot 6 of 7 from floor and had seven rebounds as the Blue Devils (8-2) won their fourth straight. Isaiah Evans scored 14 points and Kon Knueppel 10. Jalin Anderson and Dylan Hayman each scored 11 points for Incarnate Word (5-5).

Freshman Jonathan Powell scored a season-high 17 points, Joseph Yesufu added 14 points and short-handed West Virginia beat North Carolina Central 79-45 on Tuesday night. Before the game, West Virginia announced Tucker DeVries would be sidelined indefinitely with an upper body injury. DeVries started in the previous eight games this season for the Mountaineers, averaging 14.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Roughly two hours before their game against North Carolina Central, West Virginia announced Tucker DeVries would be out indefinitely. West Virginia’s offense was choppy early and unsurprisingly so. DeVries was WVU’s second-leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game.

Chaz Lanier scored 22 points, and No. 1 Tennessee beat struggling Miami 75-62 on Tuesday night at the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden. Igor Milicic Jr. added 16 and nine rebounds for the Volunteers, who took the top spot in the AP Top 25 this week for the first time since February 2019. Zakai Zeigler added 13 points and nine assists for Tennessee, which pulled away late in the first half and withstood a Miami comeback attempt for its first 9-0 start since 2000-01.

The Pitt Panthers scored a hard-fought 64-59 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday in Blacksburg. Pitt needed a late push from its star point guard Jaland Lowe, who scored 11 of his 19 points in the final minutes. Pitt stunk last Wednesday night when it got demolished by Mississippi State 90-57 in Starkville.
