Jordan Stiemke scored 12 points off the bench to help lead Loyola Maryland over Lancaster Bible College 83-42 on Saturday night. Stiemke went 4 of 6 from the field (3 for 5 from 3-point range) for the Greyhounds (1-1). Braeden Speed scored 11 points while shooting 2 of 4 from the field and 7 for 8 from the line and added five steals.

Jason Fontenet II had 21 points in UC Santa Barbara's 94-53 win against Portland on Saturday night. Fontenet went 8 of 9 from the field (5 for 6 from 3-point range) for the Gauchos (2-0). Kenny Pohto scored 16 points and added five rebounds.

© Chris Jones-Imagn Images On a brisk fall evening in Dallas, the No. 16 Arkansas basketball team (1-1) was defeated by the No. 8 Baylor Bears (1-1), 72-67, in front of a strong Hog crowd in American Airlines Center.

The No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks (1-1) dropped their first game of the season in a 72-67 loss Saturday to a talented No. 8 Baylor Bears (1-1) squad in the Lone Star Showcase at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Arkansas never led in the game, which was also dubbed the “Dallas Duel,” and the Hogs only managed to tie the score up on one occasion (44-44). The Razorbacks again struggled from behind the arc, as they shot 5-for-20 from three on the evening.

Josh Pascarelli scored 22 points as Marist beat Richmond 79-72 on Saturday night. Pascarelli added six rebounds for the Red Foxes (1-1). Jackson Price scored 20 points while going 7 of 13 (6 for 10 from 3-point range) and added five rebounds and five assists.

Harlond Beverly scored 14 points while going 5 of 10 and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. Corey Washington shot 5 of 7 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line to finish with 14 points. The Bobcats (0-2) were led by Brandon Walker, who recorded 13 points.

Colby Rogers scored 16 points while shooting 6 for 14, including 2 for 6 from beyond the arc and added seven rebounds. Nick Jourdain finished 5 of 5 from the field to finish with 12 points. Dedan Thomas Jr. led the Rebels (1-1) in scoring, finishing with 22 points.

Daniel Batcho had 28 points in Louisiana Tech's 92-77 victory against UT Arlington on Saturday night. Batcho added seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-0). Amaree Abram scored 23 points, going 8 of 14 (5 for 8 from 3-point range).

Brenden Hausen knocked down six treys and scored 22 points to lead Kansas State to a 77-64 win over Cleveland State Saturday despite not scoring a point over the final two minutes. Max Jones knocked down his only 3-pointer of the game with 2:11 left to give the Wildcats a 77-57 lead, David Castillo and Taj Manning both missed from beyond the arc in the final minutes. Jones opened the game by tipping in his own missed layup, but Chase Robinson answered less than a minute later to get the Vikings even.

RJ Felton's 25 points helped East Carolina defeat Coastal Carolina 63-59 on Saturday night. Felton had 11 rebounds for the Pirates (2-0). Joran Riley added 14 points while shooting 2 for 8 (1 for 5 from 3-point range) and 9 of 14 from the free-throw line while he also had seven rebounds.

Andres Marrero scored 18 points as La Salle beat Lafayette 81-60 on Saturday night. Marrero went 6 of 15 from the field (4 for 9 from 3-point range) for the Explorers (2-0). Jahlil White scored 16 points and added 13 rebounds.

Dawson Garcia scored 24 points and reserve Trey Edmonds scored 12 points and Minnesota fought Omaha's spirited effort and beat the Mavericks 68-64 on Saturday. Isaac Asuma made a 3-pointer with 5:51 remaining, Trey Edmonds made two free throws and Brennan Rigsby dunked it and Minnesota's 7-0 burst gave the Golden Gophers (2-0) a 61-57 and they led the rest of the way. Garcia made 1 of 2 free throws with 45 seconds left, and out of an Omaha (2-1) timeout, JJ White missed a jump shot.

RJ Luis Jr. had 24 points in St. John's 96-73 win over Quinnipiac on Saturday. Luis added 13 rebounds for the Red Storm (2-0). Brady Dunlap scored 20 points while shooting 6 for 8 (5 for 7 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line.

Jackie Johnson III scored the game-winning basket on a floater as the buzzer sounded and finished with 18 points to lead Fordham past Seton Hall 57-56 on Saturday. The win was Fordham's first road win over a Big East opponent since December 2000. Johnson shot 7 for 17, including 3 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Rams (1-1).

Cade Haskins scored 20 points as Dartmouth beat Sacred Heart 81-76 on Saturday. Haskins shot 5 for 12 (5 for 11 from 3-point range) and 5 of 9 from the free-throw line for the Big Green (2-0). Jackson Munro scored 19 points while finishing 8 of 11 from the floor and added eight rebounds.
