Nimari Burnett scored a season high 18 points and Auburn transfer Tre Donaldson matched his career high with 16 as Michigan roared away from Miami (OH) in the second half to post a 94-67 win in an opening-round game in the Fort Myers Tipoff tournament Monday night. Michigan is one of four teams in the Beach Division, joining South Carolina and Xavier and the Wolverines take on Virginia Tech on Monday. Miami (OH) is in the Palms Division, joining Jacksonville and Mercer and will face Siena on Monday.

Michigan basketball was down by three late in the first half, but used a 61-28 burst against Miami (Ohio) to flip the game in a 94-67 victory.

Western Illinois Leathernecks (2-2) at Northern Iowa Panthers (2-2) Cedar Falls, Iowa; Tuesday, 8 p.m. EST BOTTOM LINE: Northern Iowa hosts Western Illinois after Jacob Hutson scored 22 points in Northern Iowa's 79-73 loss to the Wichita State Shockers. Northern Iowa went 19-14 overall with an 11-3 record at home during the 2023-24 season.

Great Osobor scored 15 of his season-high 23 points in the second half and finished with a career-high 18 rebounds Sunday night to help Washington beat UMass Lowell 74-69 in the first meeting between the programs. Tyree Ihenacho, freshman Zoom Diallo and Tyler Harris had 12 points apiece for Washington (3-1) and Luis Kortright scored 10. Harris added seven rebounds and a career-high five blocks.
