Ian Martinez was scoreless until scoring 17 straight points for Utah State in the final 6:10, leading the Aggies to a 69-64 victory over Nevada on Tuesday night. Martinez began his run with a layup to give the Aggies (13-1, 3-0 Mountain West Conference) a 54-46 lead. The Wolf Pack (8-6, 0-3) twice closed within two, but Martinez hit a 3-pointer for a 61-56 lead and had back-to-back layups after Nevada drew within 61-59 with 1:19 to go.

Alvaro Cardenas Torre had 19 points to lead Boise State to a 67-58 victory over Wyoming on Tuesday night. Cardenas Torre also had six assists for the Broncos (11-3, 3-0 Mountain West Conference). Tyson Degenhart added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Mustapha Amzil and C.J. Noland scored 23 points apiece to lead New Mexico to a 103-89 victory over Fresno State on Tuesday night. Amzil added five rebounds for the Lobos (11-3, 3-0 Mountain West Conference). Noland made 11 for 17 shots.

Kenny White Jr. scored 23 points to help Morehead State hold on for a 70-68 victory over Southern Indiana on Tuesday night. White added six rebounds for the Eagles (8-6, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference). Jerone Morton added 15 points and Anouar Mellouk finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Duke missed its first six 3-pointers, and 10 of its first 11. There was rust for a Blue Devils team that hadn’t played in 10 days. It still added up to a comfortable 88-65 win against Virginia Tech on Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Kam Jones had 18 points and 10 assists to lead a balanced Marquette offense as the No. 8 Golden Eagles cruised to a 78-50 win over Providence on Tuesday night. Stevie Mitchell added 14 points on 5-8 shooting for Marquette, which made 11 threes. David Joplin and Zaide Lowry each had 11 points for the Golden Eagles (12-2, 3-0 Big East).

Steven Ashworth had 18 points and Creighton held off St. John’s 57-56 on Tuesday, ending the Red Storm’s six-game win streak.
