Chad Venning scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half, Fred Payne finished with 15 and Boston College rallied to beat Miami 78-68 on Wednesday in the Hurricanes' first game since Jim Larrañaga stepped down as the men’s basketball coach. Boston College trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half.

Report Card: Analyzing No. 23 Arkansas’ win over Oakland

Arkansas came out somewhat sloppy, committed nine turnovers in the first half and only led by three points at the half. Freshman point guard Boogie Fland had just one point in the first half but scored 23 in the second. Forward Adou Thiero, on the other hand, was a constant source of offense in the first half.

West Virginia again shows grit, toughness in Kansas win

West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries has been consistent since he took over in Morgantown. It's hard to deny that hasn’t been the case through the non-conference portion of the schedule, but the opening to Big 12 Conference play might have been the best example to date. The Mountaineers not only beat No. 7 Kansas on the road for their first win after 11 previous defeats inside Allen Fieldhouse, but they never trailed in doing so.
