PISCATAWAY, N.J. - (AP) — Freshman standout Dylan Harper scored 20 points in his highly anticipated debut to lead No. 25 Rutgers to a 75-52 win over Wagner on Wednesday night in the season-opener for both schools. Harper, a combo guard, is considered one of the top freshmen in the country and together with fellow first-year forward Ace Bailey, a major reason why the Scarlet Knights entered the season at No. 25. Rutgers was without Bailey, who was sidelined with an undisclosed injury he suffered Monday in practice.

Great Osobor scored 15 points and tied a career high grabbing 17 rebounds and Washington rallied late to beat UC Davis 79-73 to usher in the Danny Sprinkle era on Tuesday night. In the season opener for both teams, Washington used a balanced attack with Mekhi Mason scoring 13 points and reserves Zoom Diallo scored 12 and Wilhelm Breidenbach 10 respectively. The Aggies' TY Johnson scored a career-high 35 points shooting 10 of 25 and 13 for 16 from the free-throw line.

Alston Mason scored 14 points to lead Arizona State to a 55-48 victory over Idaho State on Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. BJ Freeman added 12 points and eight rebounds for Arizona State. Joson Sanon chipped in 11 points.

Egor Demin scored 18 points and had 11 assists and BYU rolled to an 88-50 victory over Central Arkansas on Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. Kanon Catchings scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half for BYU. Richie Saunders finished with 16 points and eight rebounds and Keba Keita grabbed 10 boards to go with six points.

Jasper Floyd had 23 points in North Texas' 80-63 season-opening victory against Evansville on Tuesday night. Floyd also had five assists for the Mean Green. Johnathan Massie added 18 points while shooting 6 for 11 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line while he also had eight rebounds.

Lue had eight rebounds for the Owls. Ramone Seals scored 18 points while going 6 of 10 from the floor, including 3 for 6 from 3-point range, and 3 for 6 from the line. Jamil Miller had 17 points and shot 6 of 8 from the field and 5 for 8 from the line.
