Josh Cohen had 19 points and Saint Thomas hit a late 3-pointer to help Southern California hold off Idaho State 75-69 on Thursday night. Dylan Darling made both ends of a one-and-one following his layup to give Idaho State a 58-57 lead with 8:45 left to play. USC (2-0) moved back ahead by three, but Evan Otten hit 1 of 2 free throws and followed with a dunk to tie the game at 63 with 4:02 remaining.

Jovan Blacksher Jr. scored 18 points, Andrej Stojakovic added 15 and California erased Cal Poly's early double-digit lead, going on to a 91-73 victory on Tuesday night. Blacksher hit four 3-pointers and the Golden Bears went 11 of 26 from the arc in improving to 2-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season they opened with four wins. Issac Jessup hit 5 of 9 3-point attempts and finished with 20 points to lead Cal Poly before fouling out.

Rodney Johnson Jr. scored 27 points as Tennessee Tech beat Bryan 89-74 on Thursday night. Johnson went 12 of 17 from the field (3 for 4 from 3-point range) for the Golden Eagles (1-1). Daniel Egbuniwe scored 22 points while going 8 of 12 from the floor, including 4 for 7 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the line and added five rebounds and five assists.

Noah Williamson scored 32 points, including seven in overtime, and Bucknell beat Southern Indiana 75-69 on Thursday night. Williamson added nine rebounds for the Bison (2-0). Josh Bascoe shot 4 for 12 (0 for 6 from 3-point range) and 7 of 7 from the free-throw line to add 15 points.

Johnny Kinziger's 20 points helped Illinois State defeat North Dakota State 77-68 on Thursday night. Kinziger shot 6 of 11 from the field, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 6 from the line for the Redbirds (1-1). Ty Pence added 17 points while going 7 of 11 and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line while they also had seven rebounds.

Tytan Anderson had 19 points in Northern Iowa's 87-68 victory against Milwaukee on Thursday night. Anderson shot 6 for 8 (4 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line for the Panthers (2-0). Trey Campbell scored 16 points while shooting 6 for 10, including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc and added seven rebounds.

Kevin “Boopie” Miller scored 20 points with nine rebounds and nine assists Thursday night and Yohan Traore added 19 points and 10 rebounds to help SMU beat Florda A&M 102-73. Chuck Harris made 4 of 6 from 3-point range and finished with 15 points for SMU (2-0). B.J. Edwards had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Keon Ambrose-Hylton scored 10 points.

Jaxon Kohler came off the bench to post career highs of 20 points and 13 rebounds and Michigan State warmed up for a meeting with top-ranked Kansas with a 96-60 victory over Niagara on Thursday night. Michigan State (2-0) takes on the Jayhawks on Tuesday at the Champions Classic in Atlanta. Kohler was 8-of-12 shooting with the junior posting his second career double-double.

Max Klesmit hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 points to help Wisconsin defeat Montana State 79-67 on Thursday night in the Bobcats' season opener. Klesmit made 6 of 11 shots from outside the arc and 1 of 4 from inside for Wisconsin (2-0). Graduate transfer John Tonje scored 11 of his 13 in the first half for Wisconsin.

Jaxon Kohler came off the bench for 20 points and 13 rebounds Thursday night as Michigan State basketball pulled away from Niagara, 96-60.

Pryce Sandfort had career highs with six 3-pointers and 22 points to lead Iowa to an 89-74 victory over Southern on Thursday night. Payton Sandfort scored 17 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists for Iowa (2-0). Owen Freeman added 15 points, Josh Dix had 14 and Drew Thelwell 12.

Christian Coleman and Yaxel Lendeborg each scored 21 points in UAB's 98-84 victory against Southern Miss on Thursday night. Coleman had nine rebounds and five assists for the Blazers (1-1). Yaxel Lendeborg added five rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Alex Condon scored a career-high 23 points, Alijah Martin added 15 and No. 21 Florida beat Jacksonville 81-60 in its home opener Thursday night. Will Richard chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and three steals for the Gators (2-0), who hit 21 of their first 30 shots and built a 20-point lead early in the second half. Florida cooled off down the stretch but were still too much for the Dolphins (1-1) on both ends of the floor.

Josh Harris' 23 points helped North Florida defeat Charleston Southern 90-66 on Thursday night. Harris also contributed eight rebounds for the Ospreys (2-0). Jasai Miles added 21 points while shooting 8 for 13 (3 for 6 from 3-point range) and 2 of 6 from the free-throw line while they also had seven rebounds.

Audi Crooks scored 16 points, Addy Brown had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and No. Iowa State beat Indiana State 64-42 on Thursday night. Crooks scored in double figures for the 34th straight game and had eight rebounds.
