Jaron Pierre Jr. scored 36 points as Jacksonville State beat Middle Tennessee 77-63 on Thursday night. Pierre poured in 10 3-pointers (on 16 attempts) for the Gamecocks (16-7, 8-2 Conference USA). Koree Cotton scored 17 points, going 6 of 10 (5 for 6 from 3-point range).

Madison Durr had 18 points in Monmouth's 68-63 victory over Hampton on Thursday night. Durr shot 5 of 11 from the field and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line for the Hawks (8-16, 6-5 Coastal Athletic Association). Cornelius Robinson Jr. added 16 points while shooting 7 of 10 from the field and 2 for 3 from the line while they also had eight rebounds.

Tanner Thomas scored 20 points as Sacred Heart beat Rider 89-77 on Thursday night. Thomas also contributed 10 rebounds for the Pioneers (10-12, 6-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Anquan Hill scored 15 points while going 5 of 10 from the floor, including 2 for 6 from 3-point range, and 3 for 4 from the line and added six rebounds.

Toby Fournier scored 20 points off the bench and No. 10 Duke pulled away for a 74-55 victory over Clemson on Thursday night. Fournier, a contender for Atlantic Coast Conference rookie of the year, shot 9 of 12 from the floor and also had four rebounds. It was the sixth time this season the freshman has scored at least 20 points, and Duke (18-5, 9-2) is now 6-0 in those games.

Donovan Newby had 20 points and UNC Wilmington beat Delaware 77-67 on Thursday night to extend its winning streak to seven games. Newby shot 6 for 18 (4 for 9 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Seahawks (19-5, 9-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Harlan Obioha added 14 points while shooting 6 of 9 from the field while they also had six rebounds.

Dylan Williamson scored 17 points as Towson beat Stony Brook 66-59 on Thursday night. Williamson went 6 of 13 from the field (3 for 7 from 3-point range) for the Tigers (15-9, 10-1 Coastal Athletic Association). Nendah Tarke scored 16 points and added five rebounds.

Ante Brzovic had 24 points in Charleston's 66-63 victory against North Carolina A&T on Thursday night. Brzovic also added nine rebounds for the Cougars (18-6, 8-3 Coastal Athletic Association). Justas Stonkus scored 12 points and added five rebounds.

Tom Izzo said Xavier Booker is sick but that Jase Richardson (knee) is good to go for No. 9 Michigan State basketball's game with Oregon on Saturday.

The early season was rough for Arkansas guard Johnell Davis, but he's playing his best basketball at the right time, and it was one of the main reasons the Razorbacks (14-8, 3-6 SEC) took home a 78-70 victory over the Texas Longhorns (15-8, 4-6 SEC) on Wednesday night at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Davis exploded for a season-high 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting that included four threes in the game. Since Boogie Fland went down with a thumb injury that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season, Davis has filled in well as another scoring option.
