Duke guard Tyrese Proctor appeared to injure his left knee late in the first half of the second-ranked Blue Devils' 97-60 win over Miami on Tuesday night, and there was no immediate word on his status going forward. Proctor will have X-rays and an MRI when the team gets back to North Carolina, coach Jon Scheyer said after the win — in which Proctor eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his Duke career. Proctor was going backward in an effort to defend against a Miami fast break when his left leg appeared to buckle when he planted his foot.

Duncan Powell set career-highs with 26 points and six 3-pointers, Lance Terry added 20 points and Georgia Tech beat Pittsburgh 73-67 on Tuesday night. Georgia Tech (14-14, 8-9 ACC) won on the road in conference play for just the second time in 11 attempts this season. The Yellow Jackets' overall record is at .500, a position they have not been in at this point in a season since 2020-21.

Georgia guard Blue Cain sank a go-ahead 3-pointer with 47 seconds remaining after No. Florida took its first lead by scoring 13 unanswered points, and the Bulldogs beat the Gators 88-83 on Tuesday night. Florida, which trailed by 26 points in the first half, rallied from a 78-67 deficit with the 13-0 run to lead 80-78.

Nick Martinelli scored 19 of his 29 points in the second half to help Northwestern pull away and beat Minnesota 75-63 on Tuesday night. Northwestern led by five points at halftime and 50-42 with about 12 minutes remaining. The Wildcats then used a 14-5 run and had its largest lead at 64-47 with 7:05 left.

Maryland coach Kevin Willard needed some time before he understood the new nickname his starting five has earned. The “Crab Five” — as it's called on social media — has become one of the top starting units in college basketball, and the name fits nicely as a nod to a local delicacy. The moniker also happens to rhyme with another famous Big Ten group — Michigan's Fab Five from over three decades ago.

The senior guard from from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, became only the second player in the last 20 years with back-to-back 30-point games against ranked opponents as the second-ranked Crimson Tide split a pair of games last week. Sears started off by hitting five 3-pointers and matching a career high with 35 points while dishing out five assists in a 110-98 loss at No. 14 Missouri on Wednesday night. Three days later, Sears scored 30 points with four rebounds and four assists as the Crimson Tide rolled to a 96-83 victory over No. 17 Kentucky.

Thomas Sorber injured his left foot on Feb. 15 in a loss at Butler and will have surgery.
