Report: Thunder among Carmelo Anthony’s approved trade destinations

Brett Dawson

The Thunder is among the teams to which Carmelo Anthony would accept a trade, according to an ESPN report Friday night.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday that the Knicks star – who has a no-trade clause and can veto a trade to any team – had presented to New York an expanded list of teams for which he’d be willing to waive that clause.

Anthony had been focused on a trade to Houston, Wojnarowski reported, but the Knicks “insisted they were unable to make a deal” with the Rockets.

NBA assisting as OKC seeks travel clearance for Kanter

By Brett Dawson Staff Writer bdawson@oklahoman.com

On Sunday, Enes Kanter said the Thunder had worked out his international travel issues.

At his preseason news conference on Friday, Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti walked that back, indicating that solving Kanter’s travel challenges is a work in progress.

Kanter, whose passport was revoked this summer by the government in his native Turkey, will need clearance to travel to games against the Raptors in Toronto and the Brooklyn Nets in Mexico City.

On Friday, Presti said the organization is “certainly hopeful” that Kanter will be cleared to travel to games outside the United States, but indicated it’s not a done deal.

The NBA “has been great” in providing assistance, Presti said, and the league understands “how important it is that we have these things taken care of, if they can be taken care of.”

Kanter has been outspoken in his criticism of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Westbrook on ‘Ellen’: Fatherhood is ‘the time of my life’

Brett Dawson

Noah Westbrook already has his dad’s heart. Now the four-month-old son of Russell Westbrook can have his famous father’s look, too.

Russell Westbrook appeared on “Ellen” on Wednesday, and host Ellen DeGeneres gave Westbrook three outfits for his son, all replicating looks Westbrook has worn in the past.

“NoNo’s gonna be fresh,” Westbrook said.

Westbrook appeared on the show to promote his new book “Style Drivers.” He told DeGeneres that because he was coming on her show, he spent “longer than usual” picking out his look.

It took about an hour and 10 minutes, Westbrook said – an hour to pick out the look and the extra 10 because he was holding Noah.

“Being a dad is amazing,” Westbrook said.
