Timberwolves put out “0 for 30” video featuring Dave Chappelle missing a lot of jumpers

The Minnesota Timberwolves are doing some work on their home arena, the Target Center, and it just so happens they had a special brick layer that got them started in 2013. That extra helper was none other than comedian Dave Chappelle. The team released a video on their social media platforms this week featuring Chappelle taking a bunch of jumpers on their floor in 2013. With a shot form somewhere between Shawn Marion and Stephen Curry, Chappelle wasn’t exactly a long range gunner. I mean, it seems a little ridiculous to put up a video of the guy from four years ago hitting bricks and equating that to helping you remodel your home arena, but I feel like Chappelle can probably take it. Either way,

The Timberwolves roasted Dave Chappelle with a 4-year-old video of him bricking shots

The Timberwolves are renovating the Target Center and crediting the rebuild to one man: Dave Chappelle. Chappelle visited the arena is 2013 for a little shootaround, and evidently it didn’t go so well. We can assume this from the endless string of bricks captured in this video. Evidently the Timberwolves didn’t forget, because they waited four years to surface this video, just to tease Dave. The title, “Brick James” and the play on ESPN’s 30 for 30 titled 0 for 30 are almost as good as the video closing with Chappelle saying “I been drinking” at the end.

11 potential Kyrie Irving trade partners for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Irving Looking To Leave Cavs

Trade rumors surrounding New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony have suddenly taken a backseat. On Friday afternoon, ESPN dropped a bombshell report that Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving is seeking a trade. LeBron James, who will become a free agent at the end of the 2017-18 season, was reportedly “blindsided” and “disappointed” by Irving’s interest to leave the Cavs, a team he joined as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Kyrie Irving requesting trade out of Cleveland to find bigger role

Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him. The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said. Among several possibilities discussed in Irving’s meeting with the Cavaliers, the San Antonio Spurs were raised as a preferred destination, league sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Other teams Irving said he’d be willing to join were the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources told

14 teams we’d love to see Kyrie Irving traded to that aren’t in the West

Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He doesn’t want to play with LeBron James anymore, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, and he wants to be the focal point of a team. That’s fine. But please Kyrie, we’re begging you to not leave the Eastern Conference. There’s … there’s nobody left. Paul George went to the Thunder, Jimmy Butler went to the Timberwolves, Paul Millsap went to the Nuggets, and Carmelo Anthony wants to go to the Rockets. I, a sports blogger, have a decent enough chance to make the Eastern Conference All-Star team as is. You leaving would mean I have a really good chance. Kyrie, I scored three points on my varsity basketball team. Fam, don’t do this.

With ‘#FireGarPax’ billboard, Bulls fans crowdfund call for front-office overhaul

At June’s draft, the Bulls first decided to trade All-NBA swingman Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen. Then, they chose to sell their second-round pick, No. 38 overall — the last piece of the haul from the 2014 deal that sent Luol Deng to Cleveland — to the Golden State Warriors for $3.8 million in cash, rather than just taking the guy the defending champs wanted: Oregon power forward Jordan Bell.

Kyrie Irving: Cavaliers are in a ‘peculiar place’

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving said his team is in a “peculiar place” this offseason after losing to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals and struggling to make any big splashes in free agency to better their roster. “The best thing we can do is handle things with class and professionalism,” Irving said during a Sports Illustrated event in Los Angeles on Tuesday. “Obviously we have a great owner (Dan Gilbert) that’s willing to spend a little money on guys that he believes in. At this point, we just (wait to) see what happens throughout the summer.” Irving, who signed a five-year deal worth $90 million ahead of the 2014-15 season, could become a free agent in 2018-19. His teammate,

37-year-old NBA veteran had a great explanation for passing on a chance to win a championship with the Warriors or Cavs to sign with the Timberwolves

After five steady years with the Los Angeles Clippers, 37-year-old guard Jamal Crawford joined the Minnesota Timberwolves this offseason, his seventh team in 18 seasons. The Wolves have had a big offseason, trading for Jimmy Butler and signing Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson to build around a promising young core, but the move still came as a surprise. At Crawford’s stage of his career, nobody could blame him for signing with a championship contender to chase an elusive ring.

Jamal Crawford explains why he didn’t go to Warriors or Cavs: ‘If I went there…’

Jamal Crawford has played 17 seasons in the NBA. He’s been to the postseason seven times. But he’s never won an NBA title. So nobody could have blamed the 37-year-old if he decided to sign with the Warriors to Cavs this offseason after having his contract bought out by the Hawks. Instead, the former Clippers guard, who was traded to Atlanta in a three-team deal earlier in July, has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the Timberwolves worth $8.9 million. In a recent interview with The Star Tribune, Crawford admitted that LeBron James attempted to recruit him to Cleveland. Aside from neither team being able to offer enough money or guaranteed playing time, Crawford explained what appealed

GM: Jazz won’t start from scratch after Gordon Hayward departure

Utah Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said the team will not go into rebuilding mode after losing Gordon Hayward in free agency, instead focusing on showcasing center Rudy Gobert.? After Hayward bolted for the Boston Celtics, Lindsey said the Jazz will focus on having a defensive-minded team to counter the high-octane offensive teams in the West. “We feel like we can build defensively around Rudy Gobert,” Lindsey told The Salt Lake Tribune. “We look at him, and he’s a top-10 player and unique defender. So we [want] to build a team around his talents.” Hayward’s signing left Jazz coach Quin Snyder with a huge hole to fill offensively, but the Jazz have focused on signing quality depth players
