Kyrie Irving’s Teammates Support Cavs Exit, Even if LeBron James Doesn’t

Cavaliers veteran Richard Jefferson has supported Kyrie Irving after the point guard reportedly requested a trade away from Cleveland. On Friday, news of Kyrie’s talks with the Cavs leaked out of Cleveland, with reports that the point guard had asked for a trade this summer. Speaking on his “Road Trippin’” podcast Monday, Jefferson said it was understandable that Irving would be seeking a move after a summer of change with the Cavaliers.

The San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks are among the teams that Irving reportedly could join, but the leaking of the trade request will make any move more complicated.

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland, likes the Miami Heat, according to report

The possibility of LeBron James leaving the Cavaliers next summer has been widely discussed. Could Kyrie Irving beat LeBron out of Cleveland? Kyrie Irving’s list of preferred trade destinations doesn’t really matter

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland, and he’s included four teams to which he’d prefer to go. Those teams: the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves, according to a report from ESPN’s Chris Haynes. Irving requested a trade after a meeting with the Cavaliers, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. Irving wants to be more of a focal point on offense, per the report, and doesn’t want to play alongside LeBron James anymore. But his list doesn’t really matter. The Cavaliers can trade Irving to wherever they see fit, and he doesn’t have the ability to reject whatever trade may come with a no-trade clause. Irving averaged 25.2 points and 5.8 assists per game last season

NBA 2K18’s Cover Star Wants To Be Traded, Which Would Make For A Weird Cover This Year

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving was announced as NBA 2K18’s cover star in early June. Now, however, it appears that Irving’s time in Cleveland may be waning: ESPN is reporting that Irving has asked to be traded. According to ESPN’s sources, Irving has expressed dissatisfaction playing alongside the NBA’s biggest celebrity, LeBron James. He wants to be more of a focus, and he’s looking for a team where he could be the biggest star. Ray Allen, Boston Celtics saga takes another turn

Ray Allen isn’t the most beloved figure in Boston Celtics history. Though he was a key member of the group that won championship No. 17 in 2008, Allen left the Celtics for the rival Miami Heat in 2012, leaving a sour taste in the mouth of many of his former teammates, not to mention the city of Boston. Five years later, it looks like the future Hall of Famer is fed up  Allen, who turned 42 on Thursday, spent some of his day responding to Instagram users who commented expletive-laced rants and snake emojis on a “happy birthday” picture posted by a Celtics fan account. “Y’all need to get over it!!! Where were you all when the team tried to trade me. It’s a business, we go where it’s necessary just

Ray Allen spent some of his birthday arguing with Celtics fans on Instagram

Nearly five years after his departure, Ray Allen’s former Celtics teammates still have issues with the way he left Boston. Thursday marked two-time NBA champion Ray Allen’s 42nd birthday, and while we imagine the retired marksman spent a chunk of it playing golf in some exotic location, we know for sure the future Hall of Famer spent some of it arguing with Boston Celtics fans on Instagram. Some Boston fans have taken that animosity to another level, so when the Instagram account “@bostonceltics4ever” posted happy birthday wishes to Allen on Thursday, a whole lot of fans responded by calling him a “traitor,” “snake,” “Judas Shuttlesworth” and much worse.

NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets’ Key to Capturing LeBron James in 2018

Among the three NBA teams LeBron James has been linked with as possible landing spots, only two provide plausible attractions for the Cavs’ main man. The Miami Heat, the L.A. Lakers and the Houston Rockets are all reportedly potential suitors for James should he decide to exercise his right to opt out of his contract in Cleveland next summer. Los Angeles provides comfort for James, as he has a home in the city’s suburbs.

Justise Winslow Q&A: ‘We’re Going for it All’

During the Heat’s remarkable second-half surge last season, Justise Winslow could only watch while wearing a suit on the bench. Winslow missed most of last year after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder, robbing him of some key developmental minutes alongside the rest of the Heat’s young core, which went 30–11 to close the season. Winslow figures to be a much bigger factor in his third year in Miami, where the Heat are running it back with mostly the same group responsible for the furious finish to last season.

Hall-of-Famer Alonzo Mourning: I never wanted to leave Hornets; ex-owner recalls otherwise

Basketball Hall-of-Famer Alonzo Mourning says he never wanted to leave Charlotte, and would have taken less in salary to remain with the Hornets in 1995. The team’s owner at the time, George Shinn, says he offered Mourning more money than then-Hornets star Larry Johnson made, and the most money an NBA player was offered at the time. Mourning, 47, was in Charlotte Thursday for the Hooptee charity golf tournament at The Golf Club at Ballantyne. Mourning has a good relationship with current Hornets management, particularly team president Fred Whitfield, who hosted Thursday’s event. The franchise honored Mourning at halftime of a home game in February. The Charlotte Hornets honored former center

Captain Udonis Haslem back for his 15th season with the Miami Heat

The heart and soul of the Miami Heat is coming back for a 15th season. Udonis Haslem, the franchise’s all-time leader in rebounds and a member of all three of its championship teams, signed a one-year deal at the veteran’s minimum of $2.3 million on Thursday afternoon to return as the Heat’s captain and a frontcourt reserve off the bench. About a half hour before the Heat announced Haslem’s signing, owner Micky Arison tweeted Haslem’s initials and a celebratory emoji. “It is a great, great, day to have Udonis Haslem sign a contract for his 15th season with the Miami Heat,” Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement released by the team. “He isn’t just Mr. 305, he is a true patriarch of the
