Whicker: Is this how Clippers run ends?

LOS ANGELES >> Is this how it ends?

At the age of 6, does Lob City get annexed by Tap City?

Blake Griffin power-dunking, Chris Paul winning playoff games in the lane, DeAndre Jordan swatting shots off front-row heads, Jamal Crawford leaving his defenders in sprained-ankle agony, Steve Ballmer’s dances with invisible strings, the Clippers on the right side of Lawler’s Law .

LA Clippers rebound from collapse to defeat Wizards

LOS ANGELES >> For more than 72 hours, enough time to kick most minor illnesses, the Clippers couldn’t help but be sick. An 18-point lead Sunday vanished in five minutes against the Sacramento Kings.

Before this week, the March schedule had presented the Clippers with such a relentless slate of games that they hadn’t even had time to practice, let alone feel bad for themselves.

As season ebbs and flows, Clippers base belief in shared history

LOS ANGELES >> Losses interrupt progress, frustration flares, the roller coaster of a long season takes its toll and expectations plummet.

One thing the Clippers have not lost, they insist, is belief in themselves, even when fans might have found them a difficult group in which to invest much confidence.

DJ is spinning: Jordan comes up big for Clippers

LOS ANGELES >> There’s little use in having a Big Three if you don’t accentuate the Biggest One. The Clippers don’t always do that. They did on Wednesday.

On a night of epicurean offense and remorse-driven effort, four Clippers exceeded 20 points. DeAndre Jordan was one of them, with 23, plus 18 rebounds.

Doc Rivers, Clippers ‘concerned about consistency’ with 7 games left

PLAYA VISTA >> Two days after the Clippers suffered the season’s most damning loss, DeAndre Jordan stared down at assembled cameras and microphones. Amid a wild thicket of bed-head dreads, a patch of locks sprouted from his forehead, pointing upward like a cluster of daffodils.

“It’s a struggle right now,” Jordan said Tuesday morning.

After ‘terrible’ loss to Kings, Clippers catch a break in schedule

LOS ANGELES >> The Clippers need a break.

Fortunately, the schedule finally gives them one.

After blowing an 18-point lead in the last five minutes in a 98-97 loss to the lottery-bound Sacramento Kings on Sunday, the Clippers do not play again until Wednesday against Washington. The Clippers have consecutive days off for the first time in a month.

Doc Rivers laments back-to-back afternoon Clippers games

LOS ANGELES >> The Clippers on Sunday were terrible in crunch-time, some of which could perhaps be chalked up to playing at brunch time.

Doc Rivers lamented the Clippers playing back-to-back games with 12:30 p.m. starts, a scheduling quirk for the final two games of eight in 12 days. On Sunday, they blew an 18-point fourth quarter lead to lose 98-97 to the Sacramento Kings.

Clippers give up huge lead, lose to Sacramento Kings

From Shaq to Lonzo Ball, glorious past to questions about future

Clippers clinch playoff berth with win over Utah Jazz

LOS ANGELES >> In the week prior to Saturday’s game against the Jazz, the Clippers won three games against teams they should beat and dropped one against a team they also should have beaten.

Wins against the Lakers, Knicks and Cavaliers back-ups hardly signaled that the Clippers had exorcised their demons, and a loss Thursday in Dallas suggested many still remain.

Marreese Speights vital to Clippers efforts to neutralize Jazz

LOS ANGELES>> When big men first began to migrate to the perimeter a decade ago, they were often criticized for a lack of toughness.

Those days are clearly gone. But on Saturday, Marreese Speights not only showed his presence beyond the 3-point line is a benefit for the Clippers, it could be the key to knocking out the Utah Jazz if the sides meet in the playoffs.

LA Clippers, Utah Jazz rev up for playoffs with last regular-season meeting

Clippers keeping an eye on possible playoff opponent Utah

DALLAS >> The NBA’s purest point guard dribbled the ball off his foot, an All-Star big man had the ball stripped away under the basket and one of the most reliable perimeter shooters in the game missed by just a few millimeters.

The Clippers’ recipe for disaster was no more complicated than that Thursday night in Dallas, where they lost, 97-95, to the upstart Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

Los Angeles Clippers reserves finally in sync as playoffs approach

DALLAS >> The Clippers spent much of last summer prioritizing improving their bench. They added Marreese Speights, Raymond Felton and Brandon Bass. Paul Pierce committed for another year.

Recently, however, with the Clippers swooning, you would have been hard-pressed to know that the second unit was supposed to be a strength.

Doc Rivers says he has no answer to resting issue

LOS ANGELES >> When it comes to resting players, Coach Doc Rivers is far from the league’s top culprit. And yet he has used the inactive list to his advantage. Last week he left two of his stars at home when the team traveled to Denver.

At that point, he was already looking ahead to Thursday, when he expected to rest two more players – likely point guard Chris Paul and shooting guard J.

Clippers ease into lighter schedule with win over Carmelo Anthony’s Knicks

LOS ANGELES >> For more than a month, the Clippers have lamented a March schedule loaded with back-to-backs, rampant travel and zero time for practice.

Monday’s 114-105 victory over the New York Knicks served to remind the Clippers that things are about to get much easier.

Yes, the Clippers (42-29) have to recover quickly to face the Lakers on Tuesday before traveling to Dallas for a game on Thursday.

When playoff chase ‘collides’ with Clippers’ health, Doc Rivers chooses rest

LOS ANGELES >> It used to be that Doc Rivers listened to his players to decide when they needed rest. But with an infusion of sports scientists, a sleep expert and a team psychologist to the Clippers staff this season, it’s a decision that has largely been taken out of his hands.

These days, Rivers joked, he is often the last to know when players should rest.
