Tech’s Gingery throws three strong innings as USA baseball earns 22-1 victory

Texas Tech’s Steven Gingery enjoyed a solid start in his debut with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team on Friday.

Gingery, a sophomore, struck out five and allowed one hit and no runs in three innings of work as USA baseball defeated the Catabwa Valley Stars 22-1 at Bill Coleman Field in Cary, North Carolina.

OU picks up 2018 WR commitment

It’s good to be Lincoln Riley. 

Hours after picking up his first commitment for the 2019 class, Riley grabbed a commitment from Kundarrius Taylor, his first wide receiver in the class of 2018. 

“After talking to my parents about committing to a four year school, I am proudly (sic) to annouce that I am committing to Boomer City,” he wrote in a Friday evening tweet.

OU men’s basketball: Buddy Hield returns to Norman for two-day camp

NORMAN — As Buddy Hield wrapped up the first day of his two-day camp on Oklahoma’s campus Thursday morning, the former Sooners star and current Sacramento Kings guard called the campers at Sarkeys Fitness Center together.

Hield pulled some money from his pocket and placed various bills on the court, challenging campers to hit shots and put the skills they had learned during the session to use.

Hield has done camps in recent years in his native Bahamas and helped with Oklahoma’s camps when he was with the Sooners, but this was his first camp in Norman.

“It’s special,” Hield said.
